The Hirosaki Museum of Contemporary Art (hereinafter “the Museum”) recognizes the importance of personal information and considers its complete and thorough protection to be a social responsibility. The Museum will diligently work to protect personal information based on the following policies.

1. Collection of personal information
The Museum will clarify the purpose of official work that handles personal information, acquire it through lawful and fair means, and, in principle, notify or announce the purpose of its use in advance.
When collecting personal information, in principle, it will be collected from the person concerned.

2. Use of personal information
The Museum will use personal information within the scope of the usage purposes indicated at the time of its collection, etc., and within limits required for the execution of its business.
When entrusting a third party to handle personal information, an agreement requiring the said third party to maintain the confidentiality of such information shall be concluded, responsibilities clarified, and necessary and appropriate supervision carried out in order to properly manage the security of personal information.

3. Provision of personal information to third parties
As a general rule, the Museum shall not provide personal information to third parties except in the following instances.
With the consent of the person concerned
When required to do so in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Law or other laws or regulations

4. Collection of anonymous information
In order to improve its services, the Museum collects anonymous information from visitors to its website. Individuals cannot be identified from this information. The movement of visitors is tracked across the site, visitor usage trends and statistics are analyzed, and outcomes used to improve services. This information is used and analyzed at an aggregate level to aid in understanding general trends and patterns and is not used to identify any individuals.

5. Personal information management
The Museum maintains the accuracy of personal information and safely manages it according to applicable laws and regulations. To prevent risks such as external leaks and unauthorized access, safety measures of a necessary and appropriate level are implemented, and the Museum maintains the utmost diligence in managing the security of customer’s personal information.

6. Disclosure, amendment, suspension of use, deletion of personal information
The Museum will respond as needed within a reasonable extent to any request made by a customer to disclose, amend, suspend use of, or delete their personal information.

7. Enactment, enforcement, and improvement of rules and regulations related to the personal information protection
In order to thoroughly implement the abovementioned policies, the Museum will ensure they are made well known among and enforced by management and concerned parties, and work to make daily improvements as deemed necessary.
