Hirosaki Museum of Contemporary Art Pre-opening

As a proactive measure to protect the health of the museum’s visitors and staff in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19), the Hirosaki Museum of Contemporary Art has been postponed its opening. And now the museum will pre-open in June with a reservation system. We will set up a preregistration system from 1st June, 2020.

Period 1. For Hirosaki citizens

Date 1st June, Mon.‐15th June, Mon.*Closed 4th June, Thur. and 9th June, Tue.
Hours 9:00a.m.-5:00p.m.*Admission is every 30 minutes from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Registration 23th May, Sat.(from 9:00 a.m.)-14th June, Sun.(until 5:00 p.m.)

Period 2. For Aomori prefectural residents

Date 17th June, Wed.- 5th July
Hours 9:00a.m.-5:00p.m.*Admission is every 30 minutes from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Note:

*Single application is available maximum to 4 people(We do not accept group applications).
*Reservation is required even if you have an exhibition invitation.
*If the situation changes, we will notify you on our website and social media. Please check at latest information before visiting the museum.
*At the museum we ask for your cooperation with our precautions against the virus.

For visiting

*Please visit in accordance with requests from national and local governments.
*Please refrain from visiting if you are one of the following:
Those who have cold symptoms such as fever and malaise
Pregnant, the elderly, and people with basic diseases and who are concerned about the risk of infection of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
*Please wear a mask or cover your mouth and nose when you visit the museum.
*Please cooperate for the temperature check.
*Please use the elevator for a small number of people.
*Please keep a distance of at least 2m each others.
*Recommended time for staying in exhibition areas is about 2 hours.

Measures against the spread of the COVID-19

*Hand sanitizer is available at the entrance. We highly recommend practicing proper hand sanitization at all times.
*The doorknobs in the museum, stair handrails, desks and chairs in the library are disinfected with alcohol on a regular basis.
*Clear partitions are installed at the reception to prevent droplet infection.
*When you pay your admission fee at reception, you will be asked to pick up and drop off money at the cash tray.
*During the pre-opening period, chairs for breaks will be removed.
*The use of hand dryers in the toilets will be unavailable.
*The number of chairs per table in the library has been reduced.
*There is a separate route for entering and exiting the building.
*The spaces in the museum are constantly ventilated.
*The automatic door at the entrance is basically open.
*Staff take a temperature check when they come to work, wear masks, and wash and disinfect their hands frequently.
